Bright or bold colours can help to draw attention to a particular feature in your garden, whether it's an architectural detail on your house or gazebo, or a featured colour in a flower bed. And if you’re the type of person that likes change, paint is an inexpensive way to update your furniture based on your whims or design needs.
Our Harmony Range of Furniture is created from highly durable and rot proof painted pine. Pine is a softwood which grows in most areas of the Northern Hemisphere. There are more than 100 species worldwide. Pine is a soft, white or pale yellow wood which is light weight and straight grained. It resists shrinking and swelling. Knotty pine is often used for decorative effect. Pine is often used for country or provincial furniture. Pickled, whitened, painted and oil finishes are often used on this wood.
We finish our Harmonys in a choice of Farrow & Balls Exterior Eggshell which is spray painted in a four coat system. Many people like the way the painting will fade over time and that small shakes and cracks may appear, giving it a “shabby chic” feel as it takes on a more weathered appearance. We do say though, that you must decide if and when to repaint and we repaint our Harmony in the Sitting Spiritually Garden every 4 years. In fact the one in the photo below is one of the first seats we made in 2004, and with a bit of TLC it is still looking fabulous.
