Product Spotlight - The RHS Serenity Range

We were delighted when our Serenity Range became The RHS Serenity Range in 2017, joining our other RHS Licensed Products.    To have the RHS “endorse” our products is an honour and something we are immensely proud of, and it gives us the opportunity to show our support to them as well.

Our RHS Serenity Garden Swing Seat is made using Western Red Cedar, a highly durable and rot proof timber. As with our other swing seats, they made in any of our five back designs and as a one, two, three or four seater, be it a swing seat of garden bench.

One of our makers, James Amato, said recently of Western Red Cedar…..

"Western Red Cedar is a fantastic material to work with, and our RHS Serenity swing seat looks beautiful in this prestigious wood. Cedar fills the workshop with an incredible aroma when we are working with this material to create the swing seats. It is lightweight (also a softwood like pine) but incredibly strong, and this makes it enjoyable to work with. Of course Cedar is one of the most suited woods for outdoor-use as it is very durable, and it also naturally has some resistance to moths and other insects as well as fungal attack. A properly finished product looks exceptionally beautiful with the natural grain of the Cedar tree, and in my opinion this timber is the best looking of the timbers we use."

This beautiful wood starts off its life as our swings seats with a gorgeous apricot colour, as shown in the photos, and then mellows to a soft silver grey and looks well against a variety of backdrops.

It is good to be reminded of the value of life's simplest pleasures and swinging on a swing seat is surely one of them.
