Win a Pair of Cornelia James Dress Gloves Worth £185

Sitting Spiritually Competitions

We're delighted to be collaborating with the royally-appointed glovemakers, Cornelia James, on our latest competition. We are offering one new subscriber a gorgeous pair of handmade dress gloves. This fantastic prize is worth £185.

Cornelia designed this classic glove back in the 1950s and good style never dates. Made in sueded cotton with leather fourchettes and finished with fine leather trim. Maud is a true classic: elegant and understated.

Made From
Pure Supima Cotton grown in the San Joaquin Valley, California, knitted into Cotton Jersey in Derbyshire, England & brushed to give a sueded handle. This cotton is rated UPF 50+, offering the highest level of protection against the sun's rays.

Dimensions
1¾ bl (button length). This is the length of the glove, in inches, from the hem at the top of the glove to where the thumb meets the wrist. The lucky winner has five different colours to choose from for their gloves; Ascot grey, navy, parchment, black, and camel.

When Cornelia James arrived in England in 1939 as a refugee from Nazi occupied Vienna, she brought with her nothing but a suitcase and a steely determination to succeed. In 1947 the couturier Norman Hartnell asked her to make gloves to accessorise the Princess's going away outfit and in 1979 she became glovemaker ‘by appointment’ to Her Majesty the Queen.

Three generations later, the family business is still making gloves by hand in Sussex, England. Experience is measured in years, but success is marked in moments made special by great gloves.
