A Pergola for Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens

The Abbotsbury Subtropical Garden is just 20 miles from the Sitting Spiritually Garden in Dorset…… it is a mixture of formal and informal flowers, world famous for its Camellia groves and magnolias. Noted in Dorset for its Rhododendron and Hydrangea collections and the charming Victorian Garden.

For some time we have been delighted to have two of our Garden Swing Seats at Abbotsbury Subtropical Garden, find our RHS Serenity Cedar 2 Seat Swirl Back and also a Harmony 2 Seat Fan Back on the edge of the west lawn.

These have now been joined by a Tranquillity Oak 3 Seater Curve Back Swing Seat hanging in a Bespoke Oak Pergola.

On a lovely crisp February morning, our Maker, Alex De Bono delivered the completed commission to Abbotsbury. The Abbotsbury Team had prepared the ground in advance of Alex’s arrival. However, the ground was very wet clay so the process of installing the pergola took took around four hours, on different surfaces this can be achieved more quickly.  Installing our pergolas is something that a competent local joiner could do for you and we provide easy to follow instructions and a video.  We can also offer an installation service for you.

Facilities at Abbotsbury Gardens include the Colonial Restaurant, a quality gift shop and a fantastic plant centre where many of the flowers grown in the Garden can be purchased. Don’t miss stunning views of the Dorset Jurassic Coast from the viewpoint at the top of the Magnolia Walk.
