Having admired Sitting Spiritually’s craftsmanship and design since enjoying their products at Lympstone Manor, I couldn’t resist a refurbished swing seat from there. Discussed things with Martin, who was extremely helpful, and the swing seat arrived, at a time of my choice, in, “As New” condition. I am thrilled. It is now enveloped in its winter cover, the design of which allows the seat to be enjoyed when weather permits. Perfect! A stylish, quality addition to home and garden which will be enjoyed for many years.

Why buy an ex-display or protype model?
We have a stock of seats and swings on loan, situated across the country in private and public gardens to advertise our brand. These seats are provided on a rolling basis, and we take their placement seriously, often maintaining their condition and recalling and refurbishing seats. From time to time, we recall some, refurbish entirely and sell them on. This is the same bespoke programme of restoration that we offer our customers and often results in a condition, almost ‘As New’.
We will always be candid with the condition of any resales and may sometimes have prototypes or end of lines available too that really will present like new! This is a unique opportunity to lengthen the lifespan of the original commission at an attractive reduced price.
Quality craftmanship, ethical, sustainable and environmentally sound
All of the wood we use comes under the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) meaning we know what tree it has come from. We predominantly use prime grade European oak, from managed estates in the Champagne region of France or a unique sustainable, engineered wood called Accoya that can be painted for a more contemporary finish.
Over 8 years of research has gone into making our swings beautiful and sustainable, and we have 20 years’ worth of sales and feedback on our quality craftsmanship.
We have a strong belief in working with local businesses and local people, we have 5 marvellous makers who all work under license for us within about a 5 mile radius of our base in Lyme Regis, Dorset. Our ethos is to endorse an outstanding local team of craftspeople and suppliers further strengthening this rural economy.

Why choose a sale seat?
We appreciate that our bespoke commissions are usually a once in a lifetime purchase for many. Each item is lovingly crafted by our local makers for our customers or is gifted to a prominent garden, business or estate as a selling tool, ‘out on loan’.
We hand select only the most suitable seats for refurbishment and resale, whilst others return refurbished to their chosen site, like some of our placements available to view near you.
Each sale item comes with a 12 month guarantee and is offered at a ‘condition related’ attractive price. With good care and maintenance, we expect these seats to last much, much longer and additional care treatments and covers can be found on our aftercare and restoration page.
What happens in the restoration process?
We go way beyond just a thorough clean, we delve deep to rejuvenate each commission, restoring its natural beauty. After meticulous cleaning, sanding and replacing any necessary parts, each commission is treated to further extend its lifespan or painted in Teknos paints for a more contemporary finish. Each item is expertly reassembled to its former glory, ready to be enjoyed by family and friends at your home, all as part of the service and sale price.
