Sitting Spiritually at Lympstone Manor

Lympstone Manor is the vision of Michael Caines MBE and a realisation of a long awaited dream. Through his inspiration and drive, a Grade II listed Georgian manor house has been imaginatively restored into a Luxury Country House hotel for the 21st Century. Lympstone Manor is situated in the heart of Devon on the foreshore of the tranquil Exe estuary, just along the coast from the Sitting Spiritually Garden.

Lympstone Manor stands in a commanding position with extensive views down the Devon coast. As a designated ‘Site of Special Scientific Interest’ it is a unique and complex habitat supporting a number of wintering and migratory water birds. In summer, the estuary is a playground for sailors and kite surfers. During winter, it belongs to one of the richest and most varied bird populations found anywhere in the country.

Recently the garden team at Lympstone, led by Ricky George, have extensively restored the grounds and ponds to their former glory and an exciting sculpture project has evolved in the grounds, these have been placed to enhance the landscape and many are strikingly powerful within the setting of Lympstone.

We were therefore delighted when we were approached to provide seating  for guests for quiet contemplation within the grounds, and the restored pond area now has swings seats in the form of  a Kyokusen Swirl Back, a Tranquillity Heart Back, and a totally romantic Will You Marry Me rope swing for those surprise proposals!  Elsewhere in the grounds you will also find an RHS Serenity Fan Back.

Recently Martin & Celia had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at Lympstone Manor with friends,  following a cycle ride along the Exe Estuary.  All four were completely blown away by the experience, it exceeded all their expectations, no detail was overlooked and Martin really recommends you try it for yourself, but he does suggest you allow time to really soak up the whole experience and ambience of the place, it deserves to be a leisurely affair to truly immerse yourself in this spectacular place.

We feel our seating perfectly compliments the ethos of Lympstone Manor and Michael’s vision of Experiencing the Exceptional and we are delighted to be a part of the realisation of Michael’s dream.
