Summer Care for Your Furniture
With these magnificent days of sunshine we hope you're all enjoying your gardens and furniture.
This is just a brief blog to show you that just a little care can have your Sitting Spiritually furniture looking it’s best for the Summer.
A simple, yet effective way to keep your furniture looking ship shape is a gentle power wash. A steam cleaner may also be used, or good old fashioned sugar soap and a scrubbing brush, the choice is yours.
The photos show a Tranquillity Heart Back Bench, which has spent the last year under a tree, by a pond, so was subsequently quite dark and covered in algae.

PLEASE REMEMBER
THE ENEMY OF WOODEN GARDEN FURNITURE IS ALGAE & DIRT. PLEASE DON'T LET IT BUILD UP, IT IS SIMPLE TO REMOVE & THIS WILL PROLONG THE LIFE OF YOUR FURNITURE
The bench was washed, using only water (no detergent at all) with a power washer, taking care not to go in too close, and the finished result, as you can see below, is excellent.

If you have a Harmony Painted Swing Seat, a gentle wash is also recommended, but also the painting will fade over time and small shakes and cracks may appear as it takes on a more weathered appearance which some prefer. We suggest you repaint every 3-4 years and pay particular attention to the joints of the top beam, making sure there is no ingress of moisture.
Happy cleaning and may you be Sitting Spiritually all Summer long!
